I got Best in Show - Custom Motorcycle

OK, OK, before you get all excited, there were only two bikes in my class. But it was cool watching all the people at the Western Dakota Tech Car Show looking at the bike!  - Scot

I traded in my 2004 RT for the GS ADV, took delivery in Mid-April, 2006. The first accessories I added were the Jesse Odyssey side bags in silver. About a week after I got the bike, I rode out to California and had a custom saddle made and then I rode the bike out to Washington DC, via Roswell, New Mexico, Henryetta, Oklahoma, Mammoth Caves, Kentucky, and Cairo, West Virginia. I spent three weeks in the Washington area, and then earlier this week I rode back to Arizona via Nashville, Tennessee, and Shamrock, Texas.

The Jesse bags performed flawlessly through the first month on the bike, in which I rode about 7000 miles. I found the bags to be roomy, stylish, well-built, well-designed and engineered, secure, and waterproof. The bracket system held them securely to the bike. Although I was caught out in a severe thunderstorm on I-40 traveling through Knoxville, Tennessee, the bags were absolutely waterproof and protected my possessions, including my business laptop computer, just perfectly. In my opinion, the Jesse gear should be standard equipment on the R1200GS Adventure!

Welcome back Glen Heggstad! What a dream adventure come true and thanks for
sharing the ride. For those that haven't followed along check www.strikingviking.net.

49 States: 8,978 miles, 8 Days, 11 hours, 20 mins...and very tired.

Al,

Both me and your bags made the trip.

The bags kept the water, and there was a lot of rain, on the outside of my things.
The bags look good and work even better.

Thanks

Dear Al and Julie,

Thanks for making such a terrific product -- from the varied conditions of the Sahara, Arctic Circle, the Australian outback, and Patagonia, to the spills and thrills of Asia and Latin America, your luggage was the best!

We met numerous other travelers, and ALL were envious of our luggage.

Ride safe, ride far, ride often!

Dear Al and Julie,

What I like best about my Jesse luggage, besides the rugged good looks and ability to hold the kitchen sink, is the added protection they gave me and my bike. When I was a new rider and learning to ride on dirt and trails with my GS the bike seemed to like to fall over...a lot. Thanks to my Jesse bags and engine guards my pride was the only thing that received any damage. The Jesse bags made the bike easier to pick up, too, which is good when your riding partners are too busy laughing to help.

Why ride thirsty?

Shiny!

Al & Julie,

Here are my bags. After hitting the bags with a DA at 180, 220, 320, 400, 600, and some hand wet sanding, I used an electric polisher with Mothers mag and al polish.

As you may know it was a lot of work. Never want to do it again. I know every inch of those bags. In the end, they may be too much like crome, although I am sure they will dull soon.

Here are a few quick pics from my phone. You can see me and my phone in the top of the case.
