Jesse Bus Road Show

Old bus
There are those people out there that know that I’m not just a bike
nut, I’m also a bus nut. I have owned, converted and lived in a bus for
almost 16 years (before Julie). My first bus was a 1960 Greyhound PD4104 with
3.5 million miles on it. Yep, that was 3.5 MILLION miles. I used it to live in
mainly, but also traveled a great deal in it. Some of you have seen it at a few
rallies in the past. These Urban Assault Vehicles are truly a passion and labor
of love.

New Bus
Our new project is a 1964 Greyhound PD 4106. Basically is has the same monocoque
chassis as the old bus, but comes with a bigger motor. The biggest difference
between the two is that the new bus has only 200,000 original miles. Stored
for more than 25 years, this bus is a rare find. (The man I bought it from
has another
bus of the same vintage with 5.5 million miles, so this bus has a long way
to go!)
Converting a bus is like building a small home. You have to design the space
before you build and plan, plan, plan! This bus will hold both of our bikes
in the garage space, with plenty of room for products for the rallies.
Our living
space will be up front, and will include a bedroom, small bath, kitchen
and living room. We are building it ourselves in our spare time so it will
be
an ongoing
project this year. Occasionally we will put updated pictures here so you
can see the progress we are making!
We plan on traveling to the rallies this year in the bus. We will have
spare parts with us to service our current customers and displays to
entice new
customers! So if you see us going down the road, give us a honk! We probably
have a cold
one in the fridge!
